Review 'Burn' by Suzanne Wright

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/30987334-burn
Part of a small demon lair in Las Vegas, tattooist Harper Wallis lives a pretty simple life. That changes overnight when she discovers that her psychic mate, or 'anchor', is a guy who's rumoured to be the most powerful demon in existence. Compelling, full of secrets and armed with raw sexuality, Knox Thorne is determined to claim her as his anchor, creating a psychic bond that will prevent their inner demons from ever turning rogue.

The billionaire also wants Harper in his bed.

She's not so sure she wants either of those things. No one seems to know what breed of demon Knox is, only that he's more dangerous than anything she's ever before encountered. But he refuses to walk away. And when an unknown danger starts closing in on Harper, it seems that Knox is the only one who can keep her safe.

As Prime of his Las Vegas lair and a successful businessman, Knox Thorne is used to being in control. He's also used to people fearing and obeying him. Harper does neither, which unexpectedly amuses him. Unpredictable, elusive and complex, she draws Knox and his inner demon like nothing ever has.

Knox is used to getting what he wants, and he wants Harper. He'll have her, and he'll keep her safe from the threat that looms over her. Because Knox protects what's his. He won't allow anyone to take her from him. Even if it will mean letting the demon inside him rise and wreak the havoc it was created to make.

My Review:

A view weeks ago I received a review request for ‘Burn’ by Suzanne Wright. I’d never read anything by Suzanne before, but after reading the book description of ‘Burn’ I just knew I wanted to read this book. I love Paranormal Romance novels and this one sounded amazing.

The beginning of ‘Burn’ was a little slow, and a lot of explaining was done in those first view pages. The slow start didn’t bother me at all and it honestly really worked for me because there was definitely a lot off explaining to do.
‘Burn’ is the story of Harper Wallis. Harper is a demon and lives with her family in Las Vegas and she is part of a small demon lair. Demons I say? Yes, demons! I didn’t expect to love a story about demons, but I really did. In this book demons live among humans, and aren’t very different from them except that they have these ‘powers’. Other than that they walk, talk and eat like humans. I love paranormal stories that I can somehow easily imagine to be ‘true’.

The two main characters in ‘Burn’ are Harper Wallis and Knox Thorne. Harper is a small demon who loves her family and doesn’t really like to stand out. Harper looks just like she’s easily handled.. but nothing is less true. Harper can take care of herself, she is really stubborn and doesn’t do anything she doesn’t want to do.
Knox Thorne is one of the most powerful demons out there. He also happens to be really handsome and a billionaire. From the moment he sets eyes on Harper, he knows he will get her. Knox always gets his way, no matter what.

I really loved ‘Burn’ and I couldn’t stop reading this fun, exciting and sexy read. ‘Burn’ definitely is Paranormal Romance at its best. I loved how easily I got pulled inside this book. The characters were amazing and very easy to love. The Romance was intense, sexy and definitely heartwarming. There also were a lot of funny moments that made me laugh out loud.

If you ask me, ‘Burn’ is a great read and definitely one of my new favorites. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
