The Sunday Post #63: September Already

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ Its a chance to share news ~ A Post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Life:

This week has been a nice and slow week. Perfect since we, my husband and I, have now both the week off from work. And I don’t know about you guys, but the last view days before a vacation are always the hard ones. I definitely didn’t have a lot of energy for work this week. Funny how that always seems to happen the last days before a vacation.

I had a nice lunch date with two of my girlfriends on Wednesday, and I had to buy some gifts which obviously let me to a bookstore. Sigh.. I love walking through a bookstore and just browse through the books. I was very proud that I walked out of that store with two gifts, and no new books for me. I wanted to buy lots of new books off course, but I was able to control myself.

Friday after work we had a ‘work’ barbeque which was a lot of fun. The weather wasn’t all that good, but except for a view short moments of rain it stayed dry enough. And now my husband and I have a week vacation. Yeah!!!! We are staying home, but we planned some nice day trips.

Books & Blogging:

No new books for me this week. I was able to keep up with my blogging which is always a good thing, and I did manage to have some nice reading time. Off course I had to watch the GOT finale, which made for one less evening of reading.. but it was a good reason to read a little less. I mean WOW!! I can’t believe we have to wait so long for the new season. But I plan on reading the GOT books before the new season starts. :D

This week I hope to do some serious reading and blogging. It would be nice to have some posts ready before I have to work again.

How have you been? What did you read? Have you seen the GOT finale?

  1. I know what you mean about the days right before a vacation. It always seems like I have a lot to do too, and have no motivation to do them. Congratulations on getting out of the bookstore with no books for yourself! I manage that now and then but usually end up getting my daughter a little something at least. That doesn't count, right? Haha.

I hope you and your husband have a nice vacation! Have a great week, Maureen.

  4. It's incredible how we get so tired and fed-up just before our vacation... I think it has to do with the impatience of having more fun stuff to do ;)
I haven't watched GOT, only the very first episode. One day, I'm sure I will, but I just have too many great books on my hands right now, so that's all I want to do: read.
Have a wonderful week off and happy reading.

  10. We've been on a GOT marathon. My oldest son bought seasons 1-5 on disc because we don't get HBO. I'd already seen the first four seasons, so I'm watching the fifth one now. When I'm done with that, I guess I'll have to buy the next one.
Have a great week of reading and blogging!
